Yesterday I posted a video of the spur-of-the-moment training session in which I tried to start teaching Talos the meaning of "wait." Today, I taped another session, this time with the clicker and with a plan! My criteria was pretty simple: I'd click for anything that wasn't moving toward the bowl. If he moved toward the bowl, I simply pulled the bowl up so he couldn't reinforce himself. [Note: Still no verbal cue yet – I don't have the behavior 100% polished. What a difference the clicker (and a trainng plan) makes! Watch how much easier it was for Talos to "get it." The beauty and simplicity of clicker training never fails to delight me.
