We’re smack in middle the dog days of summer. The heat, no matter where you are, is bound to get to you — and to your dog.
Remember how excited you were when you were a kid when you heard the bells from the ice cream truck in the dead of the summer? Remember running to the corner as fast as you could so you wouldn’t miss that cool treat? And just how good it felt to have that icy goodness to cool you down?
Now your dog can enjoy an icy cool treat, too!
Convenient, easy to make, and grain-free, The Honest Kitchen has made summertime fun easy for your dog! Their ice pups treat is made from dehydrated chicken, turkey, whey, dandelion, asparagus, watercress, honey and parsley.
Your dog can enjoy ice pups three ways. In the summer, you can mix the individual serving packets with some warm water, then chill or serve over ice as a cool drink. Or, our favorite way is to freeze the liquid in some 5 oz. cardboard bathroom cups. We serve the frozen treats to our dogs on the patio at our dinner time. When it gets cooler, you can warm your pups when they come inside after an invigorating winter walk by serving the treat warm, like a broth.
Our dogs go gaga over these icy treats. The bonus is that it cools them down and it takes them a little while to finish (keeping them busy while we eat our dinner)!
Here’s The Honest Kitchen’s feeding guidelines so you can determine how to treat your dog(s)! Send us a picture of your dog enjoying ice pups and you may wind up on our Facebook page!

Koly & Fe absolutely love Ice Pups. Since it’s still hot here, they’ve been getting one a few times a week. They’re in heaven.
