Schooner’s doppelganger is here! Sweet Gracie (who was Siena when she was our service pup in training) is here for a visit.
They are both about the same size now (Gracie is 11 months, Schooner is almost 7 months) and with their speckled grey coats, it’s hard to tell them apart at first glance.
This is the first time we’ve had TWO Great Danes stay at the house. I’m in Great Dane heaven! They both slept in the bed with my last night. Unfortunately, that meant there wasn’t room for anything (or anyone, sorry honey!) else — almost not even room for me!
The two of them romping around makes it sound like we’re living with elephants! They keep one another busy and tired, that’s for sure.
That’s baby Gracie at the top, sort of baby Schooner at the left.
They’re funny to watch together. Neither one seems to realize his or her own size. When she first arrived, Gracie tried to walk under Schooner. She got stuck and reversed back out. The look on her face was priceless — she looked genuinely surprised that she didn’t fit!
She’s quite the athlete — the extra few months have allowed her to grow gracefully into her long limbs. Schooner’s still stumbling and tumbling over his too-big feet and too-long legs.
With two big dogs, it’s tough finding a spot on the couch. Or the bed. But I woudn’t trade it!
