It's shaping up to be a great L O N G weekend. The weather looks great, we have absolutely nothing on our schedule (a rare thing, indeed!), and the kitchen is fully stocked with good food and drink.
The dogs love nothing more than an extra day with us, doing absolutely nothing (or whatever it is they want to do). Our doggie pool has been filled for awhile, the dogs have been enjoying it now that the summer heat is here.
What do your dogs love about summer?
Our dogs really enjoy hanging out in the backyard with us. They play, the rest, they watch for neighbors passing by.
Another of their favorite summer past-times is when we grill out (which is almost every night on the weekends). The grill smells so good, they always get the little pieces of food that fall, and they get to lick the plates clean, to boot.
Vacation is coming up shortly, too, and the dogs always enjoy 10 days at Lake Anna. They go-go-go for three days straight before they even consider taking a nap during the day!
They retrieve, dock dive, fish, ride on the boat, explore uncharted territory (there are a couple of small islands on Lake Anna and the dogs love crashing through the underbrush and running out on the other side, almost surprised to see…the very same lake they just came out of!).
Do tell: what are you (and your dogs) looking forward to this summer?

Actually, summer isn’t our favorite season. Our guys prefer cool to cold weather, which makes summer 3rd runner up for favorite season.
There are some summer perks to be enjoyed though, such as swimming and camping. We are particularly looking forward to spending time on Jasmine’s “ranch” – a property we got up north, in the country.
