Looking for a quick, easy and almost free dog treat? Here’s a way to thwart waste and give your dogs a delicious treat.
I bought more greek yogurt than I could eat. The expiration dates were looming and I knew I wasn’t going to get them all in my belly before they expired. Instead of pitching all that delicious yogurt, I simply moved the containers from the fridge to the freezer.
In just a couple of hours, I had a free dog treat for my dogs.
Here’s what I like:
- it’s so easy
- they are free (well, sort of. I was going to throw it away, so it would have gone to waste otherwise)
- good for the dogs
- it takes a while for the dogs to lick the frozen yogurt out of the tubs
- the pup thinks those tubs are the best puppy toys in the world and bats them hither and thither all through the house — free entertainment!
- it gives the dog a change from the standard peanut butter stuffed Kongs
Dannon didn’t give me anything to write this blog post. Heck, they don’t even know I exist. You can make these dog treats with any kind of yogurt, but we love Dannon Oikos yogurt the most in this house. And judging by how quickly the dogs devoured their frozen yogurt, I’d say they were big Oikos fans, too!
