It was a glorious hike, but the dogs are parched.
You take a break to give the dogs some water. You have water, but no bowl. You clumsily try to use your hand as a bowl for your dogs, but all that really happens is they get water all over the ground. In the end, the dogs are still thirsty, and all you’ve managed to do is water the trail.
Wouldn’t it be great to have a portable water bowl? Let me amend that: a quality portable water bowl! One that’s truly portable — will fit in your pocket! I think I may have found a terrific solution.
We’re an active lot: we’re out and about every day, and try to take at least one long walk or hike each week. Water is essential, even if we’re in winter. Active dogs, like people, need to stay hydrated. I’ve tried lots of different water bowls and bottles for my dogs, but have always found that they’re too flimsy, too bulky, or too cumbersome.
I was really excited to try Kurgo‘s new Zippy bowl.
Here’s what I love.
I love the fact that it’s so tiny — it’s smaller than the palm of my hand and fits in my front pocket comfortably. It’s also really easy to tote around — it’s got a cool little carabiner clip so you can clip it onto your backpack. Or, if you’d prefer to snap it closed around your belt loop and hold it tight, there’s a handy snap, too.
It’s big! I mean, I know I just said it was tiny, and it is, but when you unzip that sucker, you’ll see that it’ll hold 48 ounces of water! That’s enough water for all four of my dogs! The bottom is sturdy, so you don’t have to worry about it falling over. The sides are strong, too, so no danger of collapsing.
After the dogs are done, shake it off, zip it up, shove it in your pocket and off you go!
