Talos graduated from puppy-raising into advanced training on July 23. While that means we lost the gentle giant, the good folks at Service Dogs of Virginia have gained a new friend and trainee! By all reports, Talos is fitting in just fine in his new environment.
Here's a little bit of the time I spent with Talos at turn-in. It was crazy-hot and I was trying to convince T to at least wade into the water, or maybe just take a drink. He was having none of it.

We had a greyhound rescue, Gus. I was fishing with the kids one day, Gus, slipped down the bank into the water and he could not swim. It was hilarious, but managed to barely keep his nose above water and did make it back to the bank. Maybe Talos can’t swim, either?

Thanks for the comment! Talos can swim – he went in the water a little bit when he was but a wee pup. He’s actually a good, strong swimmer – just a little timid around all the silly water-loving Labradors!
